Teaching Assistant, you will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students. Your role will include providing one-to-one support, working with small groups, and helping with general classroom duties. You will play a key role in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring they have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant:
- Support the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Assist individual students and small groups with their learning, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other subjects
- Provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs, as required
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Help with the preparation of classroom resources and materials
- Support with classroom behaviour management, promoting a calm and respectful atmosphere
- Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher
- Help with general classroom duties, including setting up, tidying, and supervising break times
Requirements:
Teaching Assistant
- Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of the primary curriculum and KS2 expectations
- An enhanced childworkforce only DBS (or willing to obtain one)
