Job Title: Computational Model Develop

Salary: Circa £40,000-£50,000, depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The team integrate real products, models leveraging synthetic environments to provide visualisation, demonstrations, verification & validation as well as training capability and support. 

The successful candidate will join our team developing our Air Combat operator in the loop simulator, working closely with MBDA's future systems team including operational analysis.

The role involves developing and deploying physics-based models of aircraft, sensors and weapon systems, where you will be able to grow and develop your skills in real time modelling, simulations and graphics programming.

The work you will allow you to develop a knowledge of operational analysis and exploratory testing in our operator in the loop simulator.   

You will be part of a team of engineers, leveraging the advancement and exploitation of synthetic environments as a key enable for systems exploration and development, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge across the full breadth of work we do in WSSE.  

Demonstrators (SE representations of weapon systems)

System Simulators (Operator in the Loop environments)

Emulators (early representations of systems to supporting integration and proving)

Training Simulators (User and Maintenance)

Experimentation (Performance in context, system of systems)

What we're looking for from you:

You will be able to demonstrate.

  • Your knowledge of algorithms, software, maths and physics
  • Your interest and experience in languages such as  C#/C++/C/Python.
  • Your interest or understanding of real-time systems software development.
  • Your interest and understanding of working in Linux environments.
  • Your interest in mathematical modelling and the practical applications of these models.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to a non-expert audience.
  • ability to gain DV clearance
