About the Role:

As a BTL Underwriter, you will play a critical role in ensuring that lending decisions are sound, compliant, and customer-focused. Working as part of a high-performing team, you will assess and approve complex buy-to-let mortgage applications, contributing to the company's growth and reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite buy-to-let mortgage applications in line with the company's credit policy and risk appetite.
  • Deliver timely and accurate lending decisions while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.
  • Work closely with brokers, solicitors, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient processing of cases.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, providing recommendations where appropriate.
  • Support the Head of Underwriting in refining policies, processes, and workflows.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the underwriting team.

This role is ideal for an experienced underwriter who is:

  • Experienced in buy-to-let underwriting or similar financial products.
  • Skilled in interpreting financial statements and assessing creditworthiness.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
