The SMT Prep and Stock Controller is responsible for managing the preparation and inventory control of components used in the SMT assembly process. This role ensures that all necessary materials are available and correctly prepared for production, maintaining optimal stock levels and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities of the SMT Prep & Stock Controller:

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of SMT components.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement reorder procedures with stores personnel to avoid material shortages
  • Prepare and kit components for SMT assembly according to production schedules.
  • Ensure components are correctly labelled and stored.
  • Handle and store components in compliance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) standards.
  • Utilize inventory management software (Epicor) to track stock levels.
  • Ensure that received and stored components meet quality standards.
  • Address discrepancies or damage with stores promptly.
  • Implement quality checks within kit checking process.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of ESD standards and SMT processes is a plus.
  • Typically works in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • May require occasional lifting and handling of materials.
