Reed Legal are recruiting for a Medical Negligence Lawyer to join a Hertfordshire based law firm, known for their commitment to outstanding client care, integrity, and innovation. The Medical Negligence Lawyer will be responsible for developing a case load of high value medical negligence cases, involving life changing injuries. They will actively engage in marketing and business development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Compile evidence in support of claims and evaluate their merits.
  • Identify legal and medical issues, calculate appropriate damages, and draft schedules of loss.
  • Draft statements and liaise with medical experts and counsel.
  • Communicate and negotiate with defendant solicitors and maintain direct communication with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with Civil Procedure Rules and court directions.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior fee earners.
  • Lead business development initiatives, build relationships with charities, and generate referrals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Law Society Medical Negligence Panel and/or AvMA membership essential.
  • Proven experience in handling high-value, medical negligence cases involving life-changing injuries.
  • Strong commitment to excellent client care and case management.
  • Active engagement in marketing and business development, with a background in building relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
