The role:

  • Oversee end-to-end procurement of ingredients for UK sites, ensuring cost efficiency and supply chain optimisation.
  • Develop and implement category management strategies tailored to commodity buying.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to drive value engineering and innovation.
  • Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring on-time, in-full deliveries and optimal risk management.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of procurement activities, including buying variances and supplier performance.

Ideal candidate:

  • Must hard experience in food manufacturing and commodity procurement.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements.
  • Work cross-functionally with planning, manufacturing, and technical teams to align procurement with operational needs.
  • Maintain meticulous records and reporting using SAP, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills to drive best-in-class procurement practices.
  • Someone who can demonstrate their energy and ambition, who can think outside the box and be solutions focused!
