Transport Administrator

Monday to Friday - EARLY SHIFT

Following a period of incredible growth my client, a FTSE100 supplier of consumables to the retail industry, now has an excellent opportunity for a Transport Administrator to join their team at the Stevenage site.

Duties include:

  • Collaborating with the First Line Manager (FLM) to coordinate the movement of goods, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Using TMS to track transportation routes and communicate effectively with drivers and delivery personnel.
  • Providing adequate support to the compliance team to ensure the safe and legal transportation of goods.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving transportation-related issues, and maintaining positive relationships with drivers, colleagues, and clients.
  • Responding to unforeseen transportation challenges and implementing effective solutions to minimize disruptions and maintain high service levels.
  • To assist the Transport Department with all elements of customer service such as measuring and reporting customer service levels against agreed targets.
  • To communicate and escalate any delivery issues.
  • To communicate with drivers.
  • Assist with the allocation of work for all drivers and ensure all paperwork is correct.
  • Assist with any investigation to resolve all queries relating to deliveries.
  • Assist with agency drivers
  • Assist with TMS systems.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are required by your line manager.

Skills & Experience required:

  • The successful candidate will be experienced in a similar role with knowledge of Transport Management Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with customer specific KPI's.
  • Excellent IT skills, good verbal and written presentation skills, confidence in dealing with operations and customers
