Client Details

My client is a well established and small (LEAN) FMCG liquid manufacturer serving multiple industries. With a strong emphasis on Quality (GMP, BRC, and ISO), safety, and continuous improvement, this role will be crucial in driving strategic, hands-on change management projects over the next few years.

Description

  • Lead by example in GMP and related positive behaviours.
  • Provide leadership in quality and compliance by promptly investigating deviations and implementing effective CAPAs to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in regulatory and customer audits.
  • Enhance workplace organization and housekeeping using 5S tools to ensure audit readiness.
  • Manage EHS in manufacturing and warehouse areas daily by:
    • Correcting behaviours or ensuring EHS compliance.
    • Conducting appropriate General, COSHH, and Manual Handling risk assessments.
    • Investigating accidents and near misses promptly.
  • Foster a culture of engaged employees through continuous improvement.
  • Set and monitor appraisal objectives for the Production Team Leader, Warehouse Lead, and Site Engineer. Oversee operators' objectives and general performance.
  • Develop a robust and multi-skilled production team.
  • Mentor, train, and develop operational team members.
  • Set and achieve monthly budgets for manufacturing and warehouse staff and overhead expenses.
  • Propose capital investments to enhance manufacturing efficiency and compliance.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes to increase 'right first time' compliance and reduce waste costs.
  • Meet agreed plans and deliver quality products to customers within agreed timelines (On Time Delivery).
  • Organize and manage manufacturing and engineering teams to provide efficient service to both internal and external customers.
  • Achieve Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) targets.
  • Collaborate with BD and R&D teams to support new product development.
  • Responsible for Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Cost control, and Customer Delivery.
  • Ensure all manufacturing and related areas comply with GMP, BRC, and 5S standards.
  • Manage breaches in H&S and GMP according to company procedures.
  • Adhere to the manufacturing plan, investigate any deviations, and implement necessary improvements to prevent recurrence.

Profile

  • Experience in a manufacturing and operational environment within Food, Beverage or pharmaceutical industry (GMP)
  • Experience in batch manufacturing highly prefered
  • Ideally holds a degree in a scientific, engineering, or operational management field.
  • Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing teams, change managment/ CI programs and/or CAPEX projects.
  • Familiarity with an Operational Excellence culture, including daily accountability, visual management, and 5S practices.
  • Leads by example in quality, insisting on correct practices, processes, and behaviours; proven track record of working hand-in-hand with quality.
  • Strives to meet customer requirements and emphasizes their importance to the wider site staff.
