Cover Supervisor

- Pay: £120 - £150 per day

REED is collaborating with secondary schools in the Stevenage area to appoint dedicated Cover Supervisors for both supply and long-term positions. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and have the ability to ensure that students remain engaged and focused in the absence of their regular teachers.
Day to day of the role:
- Supervising classes and ensuring that students are on task and engaged in their work.
- Following lesson plans provided by absent teachers and delivering instructions effectively.
- Upholding classroom rules and policies to maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Encouraging student participation and facilitating discussions to enrich the learning experience.
- Providing support and guidance to students with their assignments as needed.
- Monitoring student progress and behaviour, addressing any concerns in a timely manner.
- Communicating with regular teachers to provide feedback on student behaviour and progress.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Patience and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour, with the ability to build rapport with students.
- Flexibility in working hours, as the role may involve covering classes at short notice.
