We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a primary school in Stevenage on a fixed-term contract through to July 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners as they progress through Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment, delivering engaging lessons, and helping each child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum, promoting active learning and critical thinking.
  • Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress, using data to inform and differentiate instruction.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress, development, and areas for support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality teaching and learning standards are maintained across the Key Stage 1 team.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 1.
  • Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and the ability to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for fostering a love of learning and creating a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere.
