A highly regarded law firm with offices based in Hertfordshire is looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to join its Accounts department.

To work 3 days a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with 1 day work from home.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Processing account transactions, both inbound and outbound receipts and payments
  • Performing bank reconciliations to tally up bank accounts and books
  • Producing daily bank reports.
  • Checking for errors and reporting any account breaches
  • Checking and posting invoices made out to clients for work done and chasing overdue monies
  • Posting supplier invoices
  • Maintaining and reconciling separate client and office ledgers and flagging any discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting rules and regulations of SRA
  • Liaising with compliance officers, all departments, clients, auditors, regulators, suppliers and banks and assist with any specific matters
  • Sourcing office stationery
  • File maintenance on Proclaim

Person Specifications:

  • Good knowledge of all areas bookkeeping
  • Client and office accounts
  • SRA accounts rules
  • Banking
  • Legal accounts software
  • Annual audits and inspections
  • To be able to demonstrate first class client care and communication skills across all levels.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Diligent and accuracy with numbers.
  • Ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
  • Able to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • To conduct matters having due regard to the policies and procedures set out in the firm's office manual relating to the area of work.
  • Responsible for self-development and to comply with firm and regulators training requirements.
  • PC literate and good IT skills with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good time keeping
