Reed Tutors are looking for experienced and dedicated SEND Teachers to start immediately, working in partnership with the Hertfordshire Local Authority.

This role involves supporting students with complex needs, helping them achieve their learning goals through tailored, one-to-one tuition.

Position Details:

• Location: Hertfordshire (tuition will take place at pupils’ homes or community settings, such as libraries)

• Availability: Minimum of 15 hours per week

• DBS Requirement: Must be registered on the DBS Update Service

• Pay Rate: £30–£35 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-to-one educational support to students with a range of complex needs, adapting methods to individual learning styles and requirements.

• Develop and implement personalised learning plans in line with each pupil’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).

• Monitor and report on student progress, working closely with parents, carers, and relevant professionals.

• Establish a positive and supportive learning environment to encourage confidence and independence in students.

• Liaise with parents, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and SEND guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience with SEND.

• Experience working with students with complex needs, ideally within SEND education.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.

• DBS Certificate on the Update Service.
