This school are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and dynamic team at a secondary school in Bushey, Hertfordshire. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in a variety of subjects
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons to ensure all students are engaged and supported
  • Help students with their learning, both in the classroom and in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress, including any challenges or successes
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Help prepare learning resources and materials for lessons
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture
  • Attend meetings and contribute to school activities as required

About You:

  • A strong passion for working with young people and helping them succeed academically
  • Previous experience in a teaching assistant or similar role within a secondary school is preferred, but not essential
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
  • A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Understanding of the needs of students with SEN, including but not limited to learning difficulties and behavioural needs
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to support the school's ethos
