路Assisting with washing and dressing the child
路Preparing their food and helping them eat
路Doing household tasks, such as shopping, tidying, cleaning and laundry
路Getting to know the children, their needs and interests
路Monitoring their health and weight and recording any concerns
路Following care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management Plans
路Making sure they take prescribed medications
路Administering medication as required (with training)
路Supporting their mental and physical wellbeing through different activities
路Assisting clients with physical therapy exercises
路Working with other social care and health care professionals
路Mobility support: moving and handling, hoisting
路Acting quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Child Care Worker skills and qualifications:
路Sensitivity to and understanding of people
路Ability to do household chores and cook nutritious meals
路The ability to work with different types of people
路Patience and the ability to remain calm during stressful situations
路The ability to work well under pressure
路Attention to detail
路Excellent customer service skills
Child Care Worker experience requirements
The minimum requirement for a Child Care Worker's position is 6 months volunteer work with an organisation that is involved in supporting vulnerable people, such as a care home, hospital or charity.
You must have access to transport to the various sites throughout Hertfordshire.
