My client, a world leader in the defence sector, requires a Principal RF Engineer to join their team in Stevenage, a team which designs real-time simulations for hardware-in-the-loop weapons testing.Principal RF EngineerAs a Principal RF engineer within the HWIL team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining new and existing RF equipment and working with multi-disciplinary teams to combine RF, Electronics Engineering and Software Development to produce new capabilities that enable the HWIL team to run new simulations.You will be able to adapt to new engineering situations and be comfortable in abstracting detail in order to understand the simulation and missile’s behaviour.To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level (ideally Masters) in a relevant engineering subject, with experience in most of the following:
  • Radio Frequency design and testing
  • System performance analysis
  • Interface debugging and system integration
  • Hardware/Software design requirements
  • System design for real-time applications
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system
  • Familiarity with computer science (C++ an advantage)
  • Integration of microcontrollers into RF hardware (e.g. Raspberry Pi)
