Job Title: Year 11 Tutor - GCSE English & Maths Tutor (5 hours per day)
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Job Type: 5 hours a day Monday-Friday
Salary: up to 35per hour
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced tutor to provide focused support in English and Maths for a Year 11 student. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the student's academic progress and help them prepare for their GCSEs.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one home tuition in both English and Maths for a Year 11 student, ensuring a tailored approach to their specific needs.
Plan and deliver engaging, effective lessons that align with the GCSE curriculum.
Help the student prepare for their upcoming GCSE exams, reinforcing key concepts and addressing any areas of difficulty.
Regularly assess the student's progress and adjust teaching methods to suit their learning style.
Provide constructive feedback and support to the student, building their confidence and ensuring they stay motivated.
Offer practical strategies for exam preparation, revision techniques, and time management.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred, though not essential.
Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths at GCSE level.
Previous experience working with Year 11 students, especially in a tutoring or teaching capacity, is highly desirable.
Patient, adaptable, and able to communicate complex concepts in an understandable way.
Passionate about supporting students to achieve their academic goals.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
