Bright Selection is delighted to be recruiting a Director of HR and Training for an established elderly care provider in the South of England.

This pivotal role provides strategic HR leadership and organisational development to drive a high-performing and inclusive workplace culture.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and the Board, the successful candidate will lead the HR and Learning & Development functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and embedding the company's values of care, compassion, dignity, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic HR leadership, advising the Board, Executive Team, and senior managers on all people-related matters.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, staff development, employee relations, and organisational change.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), embedding these principles across the organisation.
  • Lead organisational development initiatives, including change management and talent development.
  • Develop recruitment and retention strategies to attract and sustain a skilled workforce.
  • Ensure governance compliance, advising on workforce-related matters and producing reports for the Board and relevant committees.
  • Design and implement comprehensive learning and development programs to support career growth and succession planning.
  • Establish fair and competitive pay structures, ensuring alignment with sector standards.
  • Oversee employee relations, addressing concerns promptly and fostering a positive, engaging workplace environment.
  • Lead, inspire, and manage the HR and Learning & Development teams to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of senior HR leadership at board level within the field of social care.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, workforce planning, and organisational development.
  • Expertise in EDI initiatives and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Experience in managing complex HR challenges, including change management and employee relations.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets related to payroll and staff development.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration:

  • £100kpa - £110kpa negotiable DOSE
  • Car allowance
  • 30 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Generously matched pension contribution
