This is an exciting opportunity for a H&S Manager to join the management team at our Ardeer site. This role is to ensure compliance to current health and safety regulations, develop a strong safety culture and to promote continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Proactively implement the site health and safety plan

Manage all accident investigations

Work on behalf of the organisation to ensure risks are managed

Manage relationships with regulatory bodies such as HSE, which includes hosting site visits

Ensure that all H&S policies, procedures, and regulations are reviewed, updated, and communicated

Ensure that statutory obligations are met in relation to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting

Manage and carry our Risk Assessments & COSHH assessments, including training the wider team to support

Manage the business H&S system and provide regular weekly and monthly KPI reports

Govern and manage all site health surveillance

Continue to grow the safety culture and develop safety leaders on site

Lead improvement activity to reduce H&S risks

Implement H&S corrective actions and govern until completion

Resolve problems at pace with structured problem resolution and root cause analysis tools and techniques, such as 3C, 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa

Lead by example, use best practice resolution approaches to upskill the wider workforce

Ensure the appropriate level of induction and training is carried out in all aspects of H&S for all site employees

Promote best practice policies and processes in response to legislation and customer demands

The Person:

Proven experience in the field of H&S within a manufacturing setting

Self-motivated with previous experience of delivering culture change within H&S performance, attitudes, and approach

Must be resilient, results focused with experience of change management

Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills are key

  • Must be proactive and solution focused with the ability to prioritise duties whilst maintaining flexibility
  • Ability to perform under pressure with changes in demand, goals, timelines, and priorities
  • NEBOSH
  • Degree level or equivalent experience
