Senior UAV Operator/Project Manager
Employment Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior UAV Operator, you are responsible for the delivery of UAV operations on projects and project management to ensure time efficient and cost-effective delivery. The role liaises with the Chief Remote Pilot and other project staff to ensure all safety, environmental and quality requirements are met.
Reports to: Regional Operations Manager
Accountabilities:
- Project coordination/management
- Business system compliance

- Safe RPAS Operation
- Act on behalf of the Chief Remote pilot to train and authorise pilots and approve flights where appropriate.
Project Management
- Liaise with the sales team at project set up
- Project manage the scheduling and delivery of specific projects.
- Manage field operations for each project to ensure projects are delivered safely and on time.
- Ensure appropriate Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance processes are followed throughout the project planning, data capture/processing and handover stages of a project.
- Liaise with clients/landowners as directed by the project manager for each project.
- Coordinate with the client including the delivery of final results.
Business Systems
- Engage and comply with all company management systems (Health and Safety, Environment, Quality)
- Ensure management system processes are followed throughout each project for the components you are assigned to.
- Ensure the AUAV Intranet continues to grow as the companys shared knowledge base
- Comply and contribute to systems, legislation and regulations for Safety, ISO 9001, CAA, and other authorities requirements
- Maintain all relevant documentation (e.g. RAMs, QC checks, flight authorisation, Metadata statements) for all projects.
Business Development
- Prepare CTRs
- Actively seek and pass on leads to the sales team
- Identify opportunities to develop further business when talking with clients
- Work with the sales team to price projects and develop the scope for delivery
Staff Performance
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Engage and contribute to performance reviews and development of personal development plans.
- Mentor/train other field operations staff
- Actively engage in continuous personal skills development

- Safety: Ensure the safety of staff/clients/public, safe operation of RPAS, and safe travel practices
- Reporting: Report all safety issues, project tracking, record timesheets and flight time logs.
- Business Systems: Follow all AUAV systems and processes, and make suggestions for improvement
- Timeliness: Prompt responses and delivery to clients and attendance at meetings
- Quality Assurance: ensure all data capture for projects meets QA and provide the supporting documentation
- Efficiency: capture once capture right, minimise expenses, aim to maximise productivity and profits
