Our client, a highly reputable civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and groundworks projects across Scotland, is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join their team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a pivotal role overseeing multiple sites while driving project success and ensuring long-term growth for the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Contract Manager, you will:
- Business Development: Identify and cultivate commercial opportunities during tender stages.
- Pre-Construction Planning: Develop pre-construction plans and strategies to align with project goals.
- Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of new and existing sites, ensuring smooth execution.
- Programming & Procurement: Create construction programmes and assist with subcontractor selection.
- Stakeholder Communication: Foster clear and effective communication among clients, technical teams, and the commercial department.
- Team Leadership: Manage and motivate construction teams across multiple projects.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure strict adherence to HSEQ protocols and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Performance Monitoring: Vigilantly oversee project performance, identifying and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Reporting: Support the timely preparation and release of management reports.
- Staff Development: Evaluate team performance, offering constructive feedback and fostering growth.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Educational Background: A degree or HND in civil engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- A solid track record in civil engineering.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with seamless execution and optimal resource allocation.
- Skills:
- Systematic approach to task execution and excellent organisational abilities.
- Strong commercial acumen, contributing to strategic decision-making and successful financial outcomes.
- Superb communication and liaison skills.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction and civil engineering practices and regulations.
- Certifications: Valid SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS qualifications.
