Scottish Sea Farms, a leading name in sustainable aquaculture, farming over 25.1kt annually, is seeking a talented and experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) professional to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about sustainability to shape and protect Scotland's marine environments.

Reporting to the Head of Sustainability & Development, within a team of 15 environmental professionals who based across a number of locations, you will work closely with experienced colleagues specialising in sustainability, compliance, new consents, and modelling. This role is predominantly desk-based but provides opportunities to visit other offices and farming sites along the West Coast, Orkney and Shetland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for aquaculture projects.
  • Review and mentor ex-graduate case officers, providing guidance and training.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and liaise effectively with Scottish Planners and the Environment Agency.
  • Negotiate and collaborate with planners to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review and approve EIAs, providing expert feedback to support project goals.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience within Environmental Impact Assessment in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in reviewing and coordinating EIA processes.
  • Strong mentoring, training, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in aquaculture is beneficial but not essential; we're looking for a candidate eager to learn about this exciting industry.
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental protection.
