Divisional Financial Controller

Financial Controller | Stockport | c£80,000 + Car + Bonus

Elevation Senior Finance is currently recruiting for a Divisional Financial Controller to join a private equity-backed renewable energy business. This role will provide strategic financial leadership to the divisional management team, ensuring robust financial planning, analysis, and driving performance improvements and growth. Based in Stockport, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the CFO on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Divisional Financial Controller:

This is a role that is heavily focused on using the financial information to improve the commercial and operational performance and directly impact the future strategic direction of the division. The list of duties is just a taster of what this role will entail – this is a true Business Partnering SLT role.

• Lead the annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Provide insightful financial and operational information and analysis to the Executive team
• Partner with the Divisional Managing Director and their direct reports to manage performance against the strategic plan, driving growth and enhancing business performance.
• Support the CFO in fostering a finance business partnering culture within the division
• Serve as a respected and trusted member of the senior management team
• Manage shareholder relationships and provide timely information to meet their needs
• Collaborate with divisional leaders to evaluate and implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives, supporting the management team in achieving divisional goals
• Promote the adoption of improved financial processes and systems to enhance commercial decision-making

Experience & Expertise:

• Proven experience in high-growth environments, leading diverse projects and work streams
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, with significant post-qualification experience in a commercial finance role
• Experience in private equity or entrepreneurial businesses
• A hands-on role as the sole finance support to the division, with the ability to directly influence business performance
• Commercially minded, capable of connecting financial objectives with operational outcomes
