The Financial Controller position is based in Stockport, requiring three days in the office, with a salary range of £70,000 to £80,000.
This newly created role reports directly to the Managing Director and is ideal for candidates eager to build and develop a Finance Team within a high-growth SME.
Responsibilities include producing accurate management accounts, preparing financial reports, and managing the budgeting and forecasting processes.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a fast-paced SME, be a qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), and possess strong communication skills.
Candidates should also be ambitious and driven, with experience in managing change to improve financial reporting.

Financial Controller | Stockport (3 days in office) | £70,000 - £80,000 | High growth SME Axon Moore have exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing SME who are about to embark of an exciting journey as they double in size over the next 12-24 months. This is a newly created, number 1 role reporting into the Managing Director.The role itself is very dynamic and broad in nature, truly suiting a candidate who is keen to build and develop a Finance Team within a customer focused business, with the want and drive to become its Finance Director in the future.Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

Ensure that the Finance department produces timely, accurate management accounts and financial reports to enable financial performance to be reliably reported to Board / Senior Mgt
Prepare Board / Senior Mgt Meeting slides to present month end financials, including analysis and complimentary narrative
Prepare and provide trend analysis, including the preparation of the Company’s monthly KPI Scorecard, across both qualitative and quantitative measures.
Own and manage the budgeting and reforecasting process, working closely with budget holders to build budgets, challenging them appropriately throughout
Prepare and maintain both short term 13 weekly and more medium term monthly 6 month rolling cashflow forecasts for the Company
Ensure the Company meets its statutory, fiscal and auditing requirements
Work closely with the Senior Mgt team to plan the build and structure of the Finance Team, following any agreed recruitment process at all times

Ideal candidate:

Prior experience working for a fast paced SME
Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
An ability to communicate with all areas of the business, with the instinct to know when tactfulness and sometimes pragmatism are called for
Ambitious and driven
Experience in managing and delivering change to structure and meet financial reporting
