Research and Development Chemist (R&D)

Stockport

Negotiable Salary + Nest Pension (5% + 5% Contributions) + 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Research and Development Chemist required to join a successful and stable SME in a varied role that blends quality control, product development, benchmarking, and technical support. Key Responsibilities of the Research and Development Chemist:

* Develop and refine product formulations to enhance performance, ensure compliance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Conduct quality control testing and approve raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to meet specifications.
* Benchmark company products against competitors, identifying areas for improvement.
* Evaluate and approve raw materials from suppliers.
* Provide technical support to internal teams, including marketing.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation.
* Split your time between laboratory-based R&D work and quality control tasks in the manufacturing department.
 
The Research and Development Chemist:

* A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred).
* Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
