Our client, a well-established and respected company based in Bredbury (Stockport), is seeking an experienced CNC Miller / Turner to join their team on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines.

  • Manufacture high-quality components from detailed engineering drawings, adhering to company quality standards and procedures.

  • Perform self-inspection of your work to ensure precision and compliance.

  • Conduct preventative and general maintenance checks on equipment.

  • Maintain strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations at all times.

Essential Competencies:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

  • Experience in setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines.

  • Capable of editing and proving out CNC programs.

  • Skilled in the use of measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of geometrical tolerances.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate a proactive, "can-do" attitude.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Performance Expectations:

  • Produce components to the required specifications within established timeframes.

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow the 5S program.

  • Demonstrate excellent timekeeping and attendance.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machinery.

  • An Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is essential.

  • Experience within the oil and gas industry is preferred but not essential.

  • Familiarity with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls is advantageous.
