Adept are excited to be partnering with a leading Oil & Gas manufacturer who due to rapid growth within the past year are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist to join their shop floor team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to plan machining processes.
  • Develop and edit CNC programs using appropriate software to ensure accurate part dimensions and surface finishes.
  • Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during machining, making necessary adjustments to maintain production flow.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to optimize machining processes and ensure product quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Document production data, machine settings, and quality records accurately.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a strong background in operating and programming CNC machinery.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
  • Experience with CNC programming software and G-code programming.
  • Familiarity with a variety of CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and multi-axis machining centres.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet production schedules.
