CNC Turner Setter Programmer – Stockport

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum
A well-established engineering firm in Stockport, is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter Programmer to join their dedicated workshop team. This role involves machining components that are integral to projects across the UK and globally, primarily serving the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from schematic and mechanical GA drawings to produce precision components.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure the timely availability of required components.
- Operate CNC lathes, programming them from scratch to meet specific project requirements.
- Manufacture steel components and work with a variety of materials, including aluminium, mild steel, stainless steels, leaded bronze, and plastics.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC Turner Setter Programmer, with a strong ability to write programs from scratch and troubleshoot effectively.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and diagrams.
- Demonstrates high attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Holds a City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering (beneficial but not mandatory).
