Our client is a respected firm with a strong reputation for advocating on behalf of tenants. Their specialist housing law team focuses solely on helping tenants with legal challenges, providing them with the support they need compassionately and professionally. With a team of 7 dedicated professionals, they are known for their commitment to quality legal aid services.


The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and driven solicitor to join their specialist housing law team. You will have the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload, providing expert advice on housing matters to tenants, while working alongside senior and junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of varying complexity related to housing law
  • Provide expert legal advice on matters such as eviction, possession, homelessness, succession, and anti-social behaviour
  • Offer compassionate and sympathetic client care to meet clients' individual needs
  • Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency standards, including SQM and Peer Review Criteria
  • Handle a large volume of cases efficiently
  • Collaborate with senior and junior colleagues to deliver the best outcomes
  • Advocate strongly in court and in other settings for your clients

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a solicitor with a strong commitment to legal aid and a desire to help those facing housing challenges. You will also have:

  • Passion for legal aid and supporting vulnerable individuals, including those with mental health issues
  • Excellent client care skills and a sympathetic understanding of client needs
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload of varying complexity
  • Strong knowledge of housing law, including eviction, possession, and homelessness issues
  • Excellent advocacy, organisational, and IT skills
  • Ability to meet the rigorous standards required by the Legal Aid Agency
