Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting a pupil with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis.
  • Attend to the needs of the child, including pastoral, social, health and hygiene.
  • Liaise with the class teacher to adapt and modify learning materials and activities to suit the child's learning ability and preference.
  • Promote inclusion and engagement so that the child is involved with the class.

Requirements

  • Have experience of previously working with a child/children with SEND.
  • The ability to motivate pupils and keep them engaged during lessons.
  • Must be able to adapt your strategies, resources, and approaches to best support the child's needs.
  • Strong behaviour manager skills.
  • Be punctual as any disturbance to the child's routine could create issues.
  • Have excellent standards of written and spoken English.
  • Be minimum level 2 qualified as a teaching assistant (equivalent of Support Teaching and Learning).
