Accounts Assistant Manager

Overview:

LHH is pleased to partner with a highly respected independent firm based in Stockport, seeking an accomplished and driven Accounts Assistant Manager to join their management team.

As an Accounts Assistant Manager based in Manchester, you will oversee a varied client portfolio spanning multiple sectors. Reporting directly to the Partners and Senior Managers, you will ensure the efficient management of the accounts preparation process and take on additional tasks and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Reporting directly to the directors and working closely with senior management.
  • Preparing accounts from start to completion for a diverse range of clients.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff, ensuring their development and performance meet the firm's standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
  • Effectively using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and IRIS to manage client accounts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and tax calculations.
  • Participating in client meetings to offer financial insights and advice.
  • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of internal processes and systems.
Requirements:
  • ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification or nearly qualified is essential.
  • Solid experience in practice accounting is essential.
  • Previous practice experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
