Role: Finance Director

Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 plus benefits

Location: Stockport - Hybrid

My Client an established Investment company are working with a rapidly growing therapeutic fostering organisation that is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to lead their financial strategy and operations, supporting their mission to make a real difference in the lives of children and families.

This is a key role in a fast-growing SME, where you'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive financial performance, strategic planning, and expansion into new regions as they have great growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including cash flow management, invoicing, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and fostering family payments.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop long-term financial strategies and provide key insights to support business growth, geographic expansion, and M&A activities.
  • Financial Control & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, implement financial checks, and develop internal controls to safeguard the organisation's assets.
  • Budgeting & Performance Monitoring: Lead the budgeting process, track performance against KPIs, and provide financial analysis to guide business decisions.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure full compliance with audit, accounting, tax regulations, and manage relationships with auditors and financial stakeholders.
  • Commercial Management: Oversee contracts with Local Authorities, manage debt financing, and support negotiations for property leases.
  • IT & Systems: Oversee the financial and IT systems to ensure they meet business needs and comply with GDPR regulations.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the CEO on strategic and commercial matters, acting as a trusted advisor while managing and mentoring a small finance team.

What We're Looking For:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, ideally in a private equity-backed SME.
  • Strong leadership, financial planning, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in M&A and managing multiple priorities in a growing business.
