Description

The duties include:

  • Developing and leading a group wide payroll function, building a team and platform as required to enable scalability and integration of acquired businesses
  • Ensuring data is captured accurately, efficiently and robustly, minimising use of excel and implementing process and system improvements
  • Working closely with HR team for benefit reporting
  • Day-to-day management of a small payroll team responsible for:
    • Operating the payroll of 11 entities across the group, plus future acquisitions, using Payrite Payroll
    • Process starter & leavers, ensure all statutory deductions and third-party payments are made
    • Collation of timesheets and overtime payments
    • Communicate any payroll changes to the business
    • Distribution of correspondence to employees related to role (Pay slips, P11d's, P60's)
    • Ensure accuracy of information for HMRC
    • Submit monthly Pension to the Pension Providers
    • Prepare cost journals for PAYE Payroll
    • Compile monthly and yearly reports
  • Prepare PAYE reports for audit & legislative requirements & costing analysis
  • Ensure compliance in line with HMRC requirements
  • Resolve employees queries regarding payroll

Profile

The successful candidate MUST:

  • Have experience working in a similar role - Essential
  • Have experience dealing with significant sized payrolls - Essential
  • Be highly organised with a strong attention to detail
  • Have experience managing a small team - Essential
  • Be commitment to continuous improvements - Essential
  • Have experience managing and integrating new payrolls from acquisitions - Desirable
