Sales Administrator Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity that combines both business administration and upselling the company’s product to existing customers and warm sales leads.

An ideal opportunity for somebody with customer service and/ or sales exposure and previous experience in an administrative capacity. Although this client is a large, multi-site organisation, You will be joining a small and friendly team to ensure that the department is operating at full capacity. Excellent communication and relationship building skills and a positive and ambitious approach are essential.

Sales Administrator Job Description:

  • Providing real-time quotations to a wide range of customers by telephone, email, or online platforms.
  • Processing a high volume of sales orders through the inhouse pricing platform, sending order confirmation emails out promptly.
  • Ensuring that daily sales volume is hedged and documented. Maintaining a clear audit trail of all correspondence.
  • Completing daily compliance checks to ensure sales volume is lifted in full.
  • Maintaining regular communication with customers to understand and react to regional demands and market trends.
  • Monitor sales volumes against weekly and monthly forecasts.
  • Proactively contacting new and existing customers to grow sales volume within predefined parameters.
  • Manage customer credit limits against sales, ensuring that credit limits are regularly reviewed and monitored.
  • Manage and review internal and external queries, ensuring that a prompt resolution is met.
  • Compile KPI data for internal and external reporting in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure that regular communication with internal teams is maintained (Commercial Accounts, Traders Operators, Customer Care, Invoicing, Credit Control)

Sales Administrator Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a customer facing role (preferably in a sales capacity but customer service experience will also be considered)
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and develop strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • A motivated, ambitious, and positive approach to enhancing the productivity of the team.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills. Previous experience of managing and analysing data is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate and above Excel skills.
  • A curious nature with the ability to ask questions and challenge as required.
  • The ability to work well as part of a friendly and target driven team whilst still being effective independently.
