Job Title: Events Sponsorship ManagerLocation: Stockport, Salary: £30-40K basic salary + commission
Company Overview:Our client is a well-established events company specialising in the health sector, primarily organising events for the NHS. With a strong presence in the industry, they run around 60-70 events per year, including conferences, workshops, networking events, roundtables, and seminars. The company offers unique access for sponsors and operates in niche areas, providing sponsors with highly targeted exposure to delegates. Their events structure includes 4 hours of networking and 5 hours of speaking time, typically involving 12 sponsors.
Role Overview:The Events Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing sponsors for various events within the health sector. This includes working closely with the events team to develop sponsorship packages, negotiate deals, and manage relationships with sponsors throughout the entire process. The role requires a proactive approach to sales and event management, as well as strong communication and negotiation skills. The successful candidate will also coordinate closely with the events team to ensure sponsors receive the agreed-upon benefits and exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and research potential sponsors for events
- Develop tailored sponsorship packages and proposals that meet the needs of sponsors while aligning with the event's goals
- Negotiate sponsorship agreements and contracts
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with sponsors throughout the planning and execution stages
- Coordinate with the events team to ensure that sponsors receive the promised benefits and exposure
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sponsorship campaigns, providing recommendations for improvements
- Sell additional sponsorship opportunities such as roundtables, seminars, and speaking slots
- Actively manage a portfolio of sponsors, ensuring their needs are met at every stage
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in events sponsorship sales
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Experience with budget management and event planning is a plus
- Must be proactive, goal-oriented, and driven to achieve sales targets
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Additional Information:
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (1-hour lunch)
- Commission Structure:
- 10% commission on all billings, with no thresholds
- Opportunity for commission to increase up to 15% depending on performance
- OTE (On-Target Earnings):
- Good Year (billing £1 million):
- £30K base salary + 10% of £1 million = £130K OTE
- Average Year (billing £500K):
- £30K base salary + 10% of £500K = £80K OTE
- Higher Base (£40K):
- £40K base salary + 10% of £1 million = £140K OTE
- £40K base salary + 10% of £500K = £90K OTE
