Are you an experienced Science Technician with a background in schools and education? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and skilled Science Technician to join a secondary school in Stockport on an immediate basis.
About the Role:As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the Science Department by preparing equipment, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring all practical lessons run smoothly and safely. Your key duties will include:
? Preparing and setting up equipment for science experiments and practical lessons? Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed, including the safe handling and disposal of chemicals? Maintaining laboratory stock and ordering supplies as required? Cleaning and storing apparatus, ensuring all equipment is in good working order? Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons when required? Keeping accurate records of chemicals and equipment inventory
Essential Requirements:?? Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or educational setting?? Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and scientific equipment?? Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail?? Ability to work independently and as part of a team?? A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
