The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, and the wider school team to provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to foster positive relationships, promote emotional well-being, and encourage academic progress in a specialist setting.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs on a one-to-one or small-group basis, adapting to their individual requirements.
  • Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours with patience, empathy, and consistency.
  • Promote pupils' confidence, independence, and social skills through positive reinforcement and encouragement.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to support each child's development.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive school environment.


About You
We're looking for a caring and motivated individual who is:

  • Experienced: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs, is highly desirable.
