Location: Stockport

Position: Psychology Graduate in Education

Employment Type: Part and Full time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm).

 

Cover People are looking to recruit Psychology Graduates interested in education psychology or teaching, to work within their Primary Schools as SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistants.

We encourage you to apply if you are confident and empathetic with a minimum of a 2:1 Psychology-related degree. Experience with supporting SEMH or SEN children is desirable, but not essential.

 

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide emotional and academic support in 1:1 and group settings, creating an inclusive environment.
  • Build positive and nurturing relationships with children.
  • Support the delivery of effective and engaging lessons.
  • Use psychological tools to help pupils to understand and regulate their emotions and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement individual education plans for pupils.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 Psychology-related degree.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to form and maintain new relationships.
  • Have a DBS on the update service or are you willing to obtain one?

Desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge of different forms of SEN and the different needs of SEMH children.
  • Experience working with Primary School aged children.
