What this role is all aboutThe People Operations Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for leading the UK People Operations team ensuring they deliver an intuitive and seamless service to Vitality employees that gives them a great experience.This team performs all transactional HR administration requests that come through our HR ticket system across the employee lifecycle. This includes issuing of employment contracts, pre-employment checks, changes to job/hours/ salary information to processing leavers. People Operations are also the custodians of our HR system, ensuring this system is updated and maintained.A significant part of this role is also to identify and deliver process improvements by considering how automation, generative AI and digitisation capabilities can be leveraged to improve employee servicing journeys, and to enhance self-servicing capability for employees and line managers.The People Operations Manager is a key member of the wider people management team and will work closely with other teams including Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, Payroll, People Analytics and Remuneration & Benefits.Key Actions

  • To lead and support the People Operations team on a day-to-day basis ensuring tickets raised are dealt with professional and efficiently, workload is balanced, optimum performance is maintained, and processes are seamless.
  • Supporting the People Operations team with transactional HR admin and acting as a conduit between them and Talent Acquisition/Payroll/Staff Claims when it comes to systems/processes.
  • Responding to complex HR queries which have been escalated and liaising with the HR Advisors/HRBPs when appropriate.
  • Analysing people data to drive data driven choice making that offers valuable insights into the People Operations team e.g. producing the monthly People Operations dashboard.
  • Leading on implementing process improvement and opportunities for automation/ digitisation using our people systems and expanding line manager self service capabilities.
  • Management of the relationship with our third-party pre-employment checks provider and dealing with any issues promptly.
  • Ensuring the People Operations team are fully compliant in carrying out all people processes and procedures with any risks minimised through productive HR processes.
  • Acting as Risk Champion for the People team and supporting with audit requests of People Operations and completion of the annual certified/SMCR checks.
  • Supporting the rest of the HR and wider People team with ad hoc work and projects linked to People plan deliverables.

What do you need to thrive?

  • Extensive HR administration/HR shared service model experience.
  • Experience of people management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR systems (Success Factors would be beneficial).
  • Experience of HR process improvement and implementing digital solutions.
  • Strong data analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in taking ownership and working on own initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to problem solve and come up with solutions to process challenges.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
