IT Support Technician - Stockport

Salary - to £32K depending on experience

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Technician to provide IT support and ensure the smooth operation of internal systems. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their technical expertise while contributing to a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite, telephone, and email support to staff, resolving IT issues promptly or escalating when necessary.
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and telecommunications systems, including printers, projectors, and computers.
  • Monitor system performance, complete backups, and ensure virus-checking routines are successful.
  • Assist with IT onboarding and training for new starters, including software and system use.
  • Collaborate with third-party providers and internal teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of IT assets, including hardware, software, and mobile devices.

About You:

  • Technical Skills: Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, Office 365, and desktop operating systems. Familiarity with application support is a bonus
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with IT and non-IT staff.
  • Customer Focus: Professional and courteous communication with internal and external clients.
  • Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate system records.

This role offers hands-on experience with a variety of IT systems and the opportunity to contribute to strategic IT projects. You'll engage in training and development to expand your skills in areas like networking, desktop support, and operating systems.
