HGV Technician needed

Stockport

Our client, one of the leading specialists in heavy freight and provider of a general haulage services , is seeking for a HGV Technician to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with the right expertise to take on a vital role in maintaining and servicing a fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

Role:HGV Technician

Hours:Monday to Friday - 7:00 am - 5:30 pm; 50 hours per week , overtime hour and half

Location:Stockport

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a wide range of HGVs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and resolve them efficiently.
  • Conduct inspections and safety checks to ensure vehicles meet all regulatory standards.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as engines, brakes, and transmissions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified HGV Mechanic (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work with diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • A full, clean driving license is preferred.

Desirable:

  • Experience with a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Experience in diagnostic systems and electronic repairs.
