Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary practice who are seeking a motivated Land Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Stockport. The perfect candidate will be responsible for conducting Topographical Surveys, successfully mapping land features, elevations and boundaries to provide critical data for land development, construction, and planning projects. The Surveyor will be required to work closely alongside Designers and Engineers to ensure projects are up to the regularity standard.
Land Surveyor Job Overview- Conducting Land Surveys: Plan and carry out surveys to measure land surfaces, boundaries, and features, including natural and man-made elements (e.g., buildings, roads, vegetation, water bodies).
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect field data using advanced surveying instruments (e.g., total stations, GPS systems) and analyse the data to produce detailed topographical maps and reports.
- Prepare Survey Plans: Produce high-quality, accurate survey drawings, including elevation data, contour maps, site plans, and cross-sectional profiles
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, designers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure accurate land measurements and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality control procedures during surveying operations.
- Site Inspections: Conduct field visits to inspect sites, assess conditions, and collect data for mapping.
- Survey Report Preparation: Prepare and present survey reports, drawings, and data findings, ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Technology Utilisation: Use modern survey equipment, CAD software, and other relevant tools for data processing and presentation.
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues encountered during the surveying process, such as boundary disputes, natural obstacles, or environmental factors.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of surveys, calculations, and any variations from original plans to ensure clarity and traceability.
- Previous experience as a Land Surveyor, with a solid understanding of Land Surveying techniques.
- Experience using surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and CAD software for drafting.
- Proficient in Surveying software's
- Knowledge of land surveying techniques, data collection, and mapping methods.
- Familiarity with local land laws, regulations, and planning procedures.
