Description

As a Design Engineering Manager, you will manage the design engineering process for a highly specialized product set for a safety critical market sector Your expertise will be crucial in advancing product innovation, ensuring our products meet stringent safety standards and commercial objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering and an active involvement in developing a team of engineers.

路 Provide top-tier design engineering expertise within contract terms or service level agreements, including planning, coordinating, and supervising major contracts.

路 Identify and implement improvements to existing product designs, develop and deliver product roadmap changes, and new product developments within the company NPD and change management process.

路 Manage the knowledge management system, contributing to its development and ensuring effective knowledge sharing.

路 Address emerging design, quality, safety, and operational issues, identifying causes, barriers, stakeholders, and related issues.

路 Develop procedures and interpret regulatory requirements to ensure product compliance and best practice, monitoring the commercial success of product developments.

路 Analyse the feasibility of proposed complex products and services, making recommendations for development, replacement, or retirement.

路 Oversee a portfolio of change projects, reporting progress to senior colleagues.

路 Recommend improvements to policies, processes, standards, and practices.

路 Evaluate and identify solutions that best meet business and customer needs.

路 Engage in continuous professional development, maintaining a deep understanding of technology, regulations, and industry best practices

Profile

Essential / Preferred Criteria:

路 Extensive mechanical engineering design experience within industrial manufacturing

路 Experience with system-level integration, finite element analysis, and strong mechanical skills.

路 Background and knowledge in design enigneering, within manufacturing, but open on sector

路 People management/ supervisory experience.

路 BSc/MSc in Engineering, preferably mechanical or equivalent

Desirable:

路 Chartered Engineer status wouild be great must you must have a related degree or equivalent.

路 Experience in product safety
