Salary

  • £21.03ph/ £799.14 weekly/ £41,555.28 per annum

Hours

  • Double days shift
  • 6:00am - 2:00pm & 2:00pm - 10:00pm Lates - Monday - Thursday
  • 6:00am - 12:00pm & 12:00pm - 6:00pm - Fridays
  • 38 Hour week

Location - Stockport SK22

Overview

Supporting the Operations team to achieve compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime, increasing availability, performance, and efficiency of the existing assets through continuous improvement techniques.

Providing effective, efficient, timely response to plant breakdowns & ensuring planned maintenance is completed on time and in full as per the site PPM requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standards
  • Provide cover to the production department on a double days shift and occasional weekend cover
  • Responsible for PPM completion, updating and providing feedback for improving the planned maintenance system
  • Action any emergency breakdowns and ensure that all measures taken are recorded on CMMS (Shire)
  • Overhaul of machinery & sub-assemblies
  • Marking out & manufacture of machine parts as required
  • Participate in electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance to the best of your capability
  • To communicate and escalate accordingly when assistance is required
  • Updating of plant parameters/set points etc. as per site SOP’s.
  • Ensure that plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high quality standards.
  • To liaise, assist with training and support other departments in general running of the factory.
  • Undertake the training of others as required for development and regulatory requirements
  • Identify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this.
  • Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement teams as required
  • Communicate daily with Team Leaders & Managers to ensure planned maintenance; engineering and production priorities are understood.
  • Communicate as required with Engineering Stores to ensure that spares are available for planned and breakdown maintenance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record within mechanical maintenance environments - Reactive/PPM/Continuous Improvement
  • Time served engineering apprentice trained
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical, BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering)
  • FMCG or regulatory environment experience
