Role Profile

My client is an established engineering business in Stockport, looking to appoint a commercially astute Technical Support Engineer to join their existing Quotations Team.

In this role you accurately identify spare parts for customer RFQs using existing records and engineering drawings, as well as providing support on technical enquiries from both the customer and internal sales/commercial teams.

If you have a practical background in Mechanical Engineering and experience in Technical Support / Costings / Quotations, then this could be the perfect career move for you!

Key responsibilities:

  • Investigate and troubleshoot enquiries on customer RFQs to identify the correct engineering spare parts needed
  • Work with external suppliers and internal Purchasing team to obtain new costs and create new supply chains where needed
  • Work with Engineering on technical queries, obsolescence and maintenance schedules
  • Respond to technical queries from Purchasing/Supply Chain teams and the direct customer
  • Play a key part in an ongoing digitalisation project, to create database of drawings and technical specifications for engineering spares

Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience providing similar technical engineering support for customer RFQs, ideally in an aftermarket setting
  • Good mechanical engineering knowledge, preferably with experience of heavy mechanical equipment and associated engineering parts
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving / investigative skills
  • Good IT / systems skills
