If so, join the team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust who are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their team. This role specialises in the assessment and treatment of patients with Trauma and Orthopaedic presentations, as well as those with complex physical and psychological conditions.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert, individualised care while working collaboratively within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct specialist occupational therapy assessments, establishing diagnoses and developing tailored treatment plans for patients.
  • Independently manage a caseload of patients, including those with complex needs, with access to senior-level advice and support as needed.
  • Actively contribute to multi-disciplinary team discussions and collaborative care planning.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation in line with Trust and departmental policies.
  • Design and implement evidence-based treatment programmes, ensuring they are realistic and patient-centred.
  • Provide supervision, support, and guidance to junior staff, support workers, and students, fostering their development and clinical expertise.
  • Support colleagues by covering duties in their absence to ensure continuity of care.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working within a trauma and orthopaedics clinical setting
  • Experience working as a B5 OT within the NHS
