Are you a dynamic teacher looking to really make a different to the lives and learning for children in KS1? An exciting part-time opportunity has presented for the summer term in Year 2.On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are currently looking to appoint a strong and knowledgeable Year 2 teacher for a wonderful school in Stockport.

The role will commence April on a part-time basis (3 days a week) initially for the Summer Term with a strong possibility of staying on in September. The school are open to ECT's as well as more experienced teachers but direct KS1 experience is essential.

About the RoleAs the Year 2 teacher, you will be responsible for a mixed-ability class of approximately 30 children. A strong curriculum knowledge and an ability to differentiate learning for ranging learners will be essential to your success. The successful applicant must have good behaviour management and a commitment to following all school policies and supporting all areas of school life.

The school is led by an experienced Headteacher and effective SLT who are forward thinking and committed to whole school improvement.

To be successful in this role as a Year 2 teacher, you will be required to:

  • Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 2 class
  • Teach a balanced curriculum that aligns with National Curriculum standards and have a strong understand of age-related expectations to both scaffold, stretch and accurately pitch learning
  • Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on trust and mutual respect and build a community where children take ownership and accountability for their learning.
  • Establish fair boundaries, expectations and use effective behaviour management tools to ensure all children are on task
  • Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils, as well as continually monitor personal, social and emotional wellbeing
  • Be an effective team player and liaise with colleagues to share advice, resources and best practice
