- Handle the entire conveyancing process, including the preparation, submission, and management of all legal documents related to property sales, purchases, and remortgages.
- Communicate with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other professionals to ensure a smooth transaction.
- Draft and review contracts, transfer deeds, and other necessary legal documents.
- Ensure that all documents are completed correctly and in compliance with relevant legal requirements.
- Advise clients on their rights and obligations during the property transaction process.
- Respond to client inquiries, keeping them informed of progress and addressing concerns
- Conduct property searches, including land registry, local authority, and environmental searches, to ensure the property is free from legal issues.
- Review and report on any legal issues found during searches.
- Ensure that all transactions are completed within the required timeframes.
- Manage the financial side of the transaction, including arranging for the payment of deposits, completion funds, and stamp duty.
- Ensure all payments and financial transfers are handled appropriately.
- Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the conveyancing process, such as disputes, title issues, or complications in the transaction.
- Ensure that all aspects of the transaction comply with legal, regulatory, and firm-specific requirements, including anti-money laundering regulations.
- Keep accurate records of all correspondence, documents, and transactions.
- Previous experience as a paralegal in a conveyancing department (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process, both residential and commercial.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with conveyancing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
