Your new companyYour new company is a global engineering business within the Defence Sector. They are a world-renowned leader in their manufacturing processes and a key partner to numerous blue-chip organisations. They are known for their commitment to quality and innovation within engineering and have numerous sites & offices across the globe. Due to a huge and continuous increase in their order books, they are looking to build up the team with an NDT Technician as they continue to win work and expand their operations.Your new roleWithin your new role as an NDT Technician, you will be expected to complete RT, VT, MT & PT tests and carry out the inspection of products at various stages of the production process, with an emphasis on non-destructive testing (NDT). Some of your more direct duties will include:

  • Review part prints, procedures and work instructions to complete testing.
  • Set up and perform non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics: position parts between electrodes of magnetic testing equipment and activates switch to induce magnetic field that attracts and accumulates iron oxide particles at defective points.
  • Coordinating with Quality Management on all applicable issues.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to succeed in this position, it is essential you have:

  • Relevant qualifications in accordance with ISO9712
  • CSWIP and/or PCN certifications
  • UK driving licence
  • Valid British passport

Your relevant experience for this role should also include:

  • The ability to read and accurately interpret drawings/specifications.
  • The ability to use Quality Instruments, i.e. Weld gauges, micrometres, steel rulers, etc.
  • Exposure of working within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment
  • Driving Continuous Improvement/Lean manufacturing
