DCS Engineering are currently recruiting for a quality inspector to join one of clients based in Stockport who are a leader in the subcontract tooling industry.

Role and responsibilities

  • General inspection of machined parts and assemblies using a variety of manual and automated techniques
  • Supporting the QM in updating the QMS
  • Calibration of hand held measuring tools
  • Working closely with production, estimating and sales teams
  • Customer facing role providing solutions and inspiring confidence
  • Advising on capital investments to ensure leading technologies are used
  • Drive a zero defect culture
  • Action NCR's using 8d methodologies

Continuous improvement

  • Stay informed of advances in technology and approaches and apply withing the organisation to improve efficiencies
  • Develop and implement new systems, best practices to improve business performance.
  • Research and provide business plans/strategies for future proofing the inspection department
  • Persona development, this role is Ideally suited to an ambitious individual who has the drive to become the group quality manager.

Experience

  • Preferably time served in either toolmaking or Machining
  • Leica or faro laser tracker/PCMM experience is desirable
  • CMM programming and operating desirable (PCDMIS Software but happy to train if other software experience)
  • Experience working in a precision engineering environment
