About the Role:The Setting Out Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the setting out and precision alignment of civil engineering structures, specifically in substation projects. The role will involve traveling to various project sites, includingBurnley, Banbury, and Gloucester, so a willingness to travel is essential. Alltravel expenses, includingaccommodation and a food allowance, will be provided by the company.
This is atemporary-to-permanentposition, meaning successful candidates will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role after the initial contract period, depending on performance and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out accurate setting out and levelling for a variety of civil engineering projects, with a focus onsubstation construction.
- UsingTrimble technologyto ensure precision in measurement and layout.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to ensure the smooth delivery of projects to the highest quality standards.
- Adhering to strictHealth & Safetyprotocols and site regulations.
- Problem-solving on-site to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet client specifications.
- Reporting progress and any issues to the project manager in a timely manner.
Key Requirements:
- Heavy Civil Engineeringbackground is essential, with significant experience in large-scale infrastructure or substation projects.
- Proven experience working withTrimble technologyis required for accurate setting out and data management.
- A full UK driving license and flexibility to travel to multiple locations as required by the project schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with project managers and the wider engineering team.
